As a content writer, you should have empathy for your readers or audience. Trust me, writing word after word won’t make you a true content writer unless you know your audience’s pain points.
Look, this is not only the case for content writing. No matter what we do involving people, it is important to understand their needs and what they actually want from us.
If it takes 3 hours to write 1000-word content, make sure you spend most of your time knowing and understanding your audience. Yes, the depth and style of writing matter. Once you know whom you are writing for, what they expect, and exactly how they want to consume information, the depth and style of your writing will make more sense.
Now, why does writing depth matter? Well, how can you write better content unless you know enough about the topic? You can still write having some sort of ideas from the content on that particular topic that already exists. But will this add any value for your audience? No!
Typing a 1000-word content won’t take a long time. But after knowing your audience, understanding the depth of the topic or having research is all that creates the difference.
Let’s say you are done with the research to write compelling content. But that’s not where you put a full stop on writing preparation. You need to determine a style you will follow while you write.
Why?
Presenting the information your audience is looking for in the manner they like is important. Yes, you can possess your own writing style, but that shouldn’t go unaligned with what your audience prefers.
I don’t know how many of you create an outline before writing content. If you don’t, you need to rethink your writing strategy. Make the outlines meaningful so your readers can have that flow of consuming information.
Now you can write. I don’t want to highlight more on keyword placement as I know you people more or less know it. This is not a big deal, as reading some blogs on the topic will do. The same goes for optimization.
The thing that matters is, then again, to have empathy for your readers. Treat you as a best-seller writer, and millions of readers around the world are waiting for your next masterpiece. Let’s make every word count.
